Hinako Takagi - Composer

Composer and lecturer at the Osaka College of Music, Hinako Takagi composes contemporary pieces for artists. In 2017, she won 3rd prize in the composition category of the Japanese National Music Competition with a piece for string quartet and prepared piano which was broadcast on NHK radio. In 2019, she won 1st prize in the composition category of Geneva International Music Competition. Her award-winning work “L’instant” is chosen to be one of the required pieces in the oboe category of the same competition in 2021.

As a student, she had the opportunity to work with Allain Gaussin and Eric Tanguy in Kyoto. A composer and pianist, Hinako Takagi devotes much of her time to teaching young people. She is always trying out new musical forms to transmit impressions and philosophical concepts using contemporary writing.
